Astrakhan State University is a higher educational institution in city of Astrakhan of Russian Federation. Astrakhan State University was founded in 1932 as the Astrakhan State Pedagogical Institute which was changed into University of Higher education in Astrakhan. In 2002 the University of Higher education in Astrakhan renamed in Astrakhan State University. Astrakhan State University is known as one of the largest multi-purpose educational institutions in the Caspian region. Till now Astrakhan State University has trained about 27000 graduate and about 6000 post-graduate and doctoral students. At present the structure of Astrakhan State University includes 6 institutes, 20 faculties and 65 departments where 2500 students from Iran, Korea, India, Italy, France, Turkey, Syria, Morocco, Congo and other countries are being trained.
